Android eSIM Setup Guide

Setup instructions for Rover eSIM

Requirements & Device Compatibility

  • Compatible Android device with eSIM support
  • Android 10 or later
  • Stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection
  • Rover eSIM QR code or activation details
  1. Open Settings

    On your Android device, open Settings and tap Network & Internet.

  2. Add eSIM

    Tap the Add icon (+) next to Mobile Network, then tap Next when asked "Don't have a SIM card?"

  3. Choose Installation Method

    You can either scan the QR code or enter the details manually:

    • Option 1: Scan QR Code (Recommended)
    • Option 2: Tap "Enter Code Manually"

    A Wi-Fi connection is required at this step to configure your eSIM.

  4. Option 1: Scan QR Code

    Use your phone's camera to scan your Rover eSIM QR code.

  5. Option 2: Enter Details Manually (if needed)

    If prompted, enter the details provided by Rover manually.

  6. Enable Services

    Your eSIM has been installed successfully! It will activate once it connects to a local network in the country or countries where it has coverage.

    Settings:

    • Enable the eSIM under Mobile Network
    • Enable Mobile Data
    • Enable Data Roaming
    • Turn off Mobile Data from your other SIM card
    • If you still don't have connectivity, please check your APN (access point names) settings. If your APN was not set automatically, you can set the APN manually. Please contact us for the APN details
  7. Label Your eSIM

    Set a recognizable label for your eSIM:

    1. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card Manager
    2. Select your eSIM
    3. Choose a label (e.g., "Rover eSIM") for easy identification

Troubleshooting

  • If you can't scan the QR code, try manual entry method
  • No connectivity? Double-check your APN settings
  • Turn off your primary line to avoid roaming charges
  • Contact support if you need to transfer data to a new eSIM
