iOS eSIM Setup Guide

Setup instructions for Rover eSIM

Requirements & Device Compatibility

  • Compatible iPhone (XS, XR, 11, 12, 13, 14, SE 2nd gen or newer)
  • iOS 12.1 or later
  • Stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection
  • Rover eSIM QR code or activation details
  1. Open Settings

    On your iPhone, open the Settings app. Scroll down and tap Cellular (or Mobile Data in some regions).

  2. Add eSIM

    Tap Add eSIM.

    Navigate to Cellular settings
    Add Cellular Plan
  3. Choose Installation Method

    You can either scan the QR code or enter the details manually:

    • Option 1: Scan QR Code (Recommended)
    • Option 2: Tap "Enter Code Manually"

    A Wi-Fi connection is required at this step to configure your eSIM.

  4. Option 1: Scan QR Code

    Use your iPhone camera to scan your Rover eSIM QR code.

  5. Option 2: Enter Details Manually (if needed)

    If prompted, enter the details provided by Rover manually.

  6. Enable Services

    Your eSIM has been installed successfully! It will activate once it connects to a local network in the country or countries where it has coverage.

    Settings:

    • Enable the eSIM under Cellular/Mobile Data
    • Enable Data Roaming
    • Turn off "Allow Cellular Data Switching"
    • Turn off Mobile Data from your other SIM card
  7. Label Your eSIM

    Set a recognizable label for your eSIM:

    1. Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile Data
    2. Select the eSIM you want to edit > tap "Cellular Plan Label"
    3. Choose a custom label (e.g., "Rover eSIM") for easy identification

Troubleshooting

  • If you see "Invalid Activation Code", double-check your code and try again.
  • Restart your iPhone if the eSIM does not activate immediately.
  • Ensure your device is unlocked and supports eSIM.
  • Contact Rover support if you continue to experience issues.
